Reading Programs

Every classroom has at least one, and many times two, three or more students who can't read or who reads far below expectations.  This is true regardless of the approach used to teach reading, the cognitive ability of the students, or the skill and dedication of the teacher.  These students have often been retained in first or second grade.  They end up in remedial reading programs and never "catch-up" in their reading abilities.  Every student can learn to be a fluent reader but not all students learn to read using the same methods.

There is an effective solution: EDNA, Early Detection Necessary Action, an innovative reading program for at risk children developed by renowned reading expert Edna Goble.  All programs provided by Teach Them To Read are Research Based Programs as identified by the Report of the National Reading Panel.

EDNA (Grades K - 3)

Early Detection Necessary Action

EDNA is an outstanding early intervention program that identifies and accelerates at-risk readers during their primary years.
EDNA II (Grades 4 & Up)

Reading Intervention for Grade 4 and Above

EDNA II is a dynamic, effective reading intervention program for older children - grade 4 and above - who have not learned the essential lifeskill of reading.
Teaching PHONICS

In a Balanced Reading Program

Teaching phonics is a critical first step in putting reading within reach for all children.  However, not all phonics programs are the same and some can even hinder the reading process.

"Putting Reading Within Reach" is the founding and guiding mission of EDNA.  The results of the program are dramatic: thousands of former at-risk readers have overcome their reading deficiencies and are now able to read at grade level because of EDNA.  Further, the program guarantees that every at-risk child in grades K through 3 will learn to read.

Teach Them To Read regularly attends reading and educational conferences.

To ensure that the wondrous journey of learning and reading is within reach for all students, put the EDNA program to work at your school.  If you would like additional information about our programs, please give us a call at 800-279-6983 or e-mail at edna@t2read.com
